PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Obtaining Food
Fungus actually obtain food from the things they decompose and their type of food is actually nutrients. They release
hydrolyric enzymes, called exoenzymes, into their surroundings to break down food.

STRUCTURE

  • In most fungi, cells are haploid.
  • They have bodies called mycelium which are branched filaments.
  • The mycelium is made up of many individual filamentous hyphae, which are thread like strings.

REPRODUCTION

  • Most fungi reproduce by releasing tiny spores that then sprout & grow into new fungus
  • The spores are produced by a visible above ground, fruiting body.
  • Some fungi drop spores, which are blown away and spread out by the wind.

EXAMPLES OF FUNGUS
