FROGS

✪ Frogs are Amphibians
✪ Amphibian means two lives
✪ Frogs are Amphibians because they have one life in water and one on land

✪ Frogs are cold blooded which means they are the same temperature as the air around them
✪ This is why they rest in the sun

✪ Frogs have very good eye sight, this is why their eyes bulge out
✪ Their eyes bulge out so they can see in almost every direction possible
✪ Frogs also have great sense of hearing

✪ You can tell whether a frog is a female or a male by the size of their eardrum
✪ When a frogs eardrum is smaller than it's eye it is a female
✪ If it is bigger than it's eye it is a male

✪ Frogs legs are very strong
✪ Frogs use their legs to swim and jump
✪ They can jump far distances
✪ Some frogs can jump up to 20 times their body size in a single leap

✪ Only male frogs croak
✪ Different species of frogs have their own sounds
✪ Some frogs chirp, whistle, ribbit, peep, bark, grunt,or cluck

✪ Frogs are carnivores
✪ Small and Medium sized frogs eat insects like flies and moths
✪ Larger frogs eat larger insects like grasshoppers
✪ Most frogs starve before they eat dead insects or a animal

TOADS

✪ Toads are usually a brown color, but can range from the colors black, green, and yellow
✪ Their skin is permeable which means it allows liquid and gases through it
✪ Their skin also has a rough appearance

✪ Toads live in moist areas
✪ Toads can live in dry areas also
✪ Some toads live in deserts
✪ Toads get moisture in the desert by digging them selves into the dirt

✪ Female Toads lay their eggs in water instead of on land
✪ The eggs are on long strings known as toadspawn

THE DIFFERENCE

✪ Toads do not have teeth
✪ Toads can live on land (areas without water)
✪ Toads have rough skin

✪ Frogs have smooth skin
✪ Frogs live by water
✪ Frogs have small teeth
✪ Frogs have a narrow body

✪ Toads have a wide body
✪ Toads don't have that many predators
✪ Toads have shorter legs
✪ Toads make don't' jump far

✪ Frogs have long legs
✪ Frogs can jump far
✪ Frogs have higher rounder eyes
✪ Frogs have many predators
