FRENCH REVOLUTION OF 1798

Storming the Bastille
On July 14, 1789, people stormed the local prison, igniting the French Revolution.

The Declaration of The Rights of Man
On August 27, 1789, people started to speak up and this document showed that they started to form a government.

Women's March on Versailles
Between October 5th and 6th of 1789, women marched fourteen miles and started to unite. They cause the king to come back to Paris.

September Massacres
On August 10, 1792, Louis XVI went on trial and lost the throne.

Execution of King Louis XVI
On January 21, 1793, Louis was guillotined and this made all of the people very angry. This event officially ended the monarchy.

Execution of Marie Antoinette
On October 16, 1793, Marie was guillotined and also this ended the monarchy, keeping everyone in a revolting tone.

Reign of Terror
In 1793 and 1794, Robespierre was almost a dictator of France. Many people were executed in this time frame.
