THE STORMING OF THE BASTILLE

  • July 14th, 1789
  • The French people started to have more power

SEPTEMBER MASSACRES

  • September, 1792
  • Created the new assembly
  • Gave up on the limited monarchy idea

EXECUTION OF KING LOUIS XVI

  • January 31st, 1793
  • After this the army started to grow
  • (300,000-800,000, ages from 18-40, included women)

EXECUTION OF MARIE ANTIONETTE

  • October 16th, 1793
  • Death sentences had become very popular
  • Especially with leaders and people that had power, and helper set up the republic

THE REIGN OF TERROR

  • July 1793 to July 1794
  • People were very focused on the ideas of the revolution

THE DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF MAN

  • August 27th, 1789
  • Guaranteed citizens equal justice
  • Gave the revolution the slogan of "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity"

THE WOMEN'S MARCH ON VERSAILLES

  • October, 1789
  • King and queen were forced out of the palace
