THE STORMING OF THE BASTILLE

  • July 14,1789
  • This was the first major event in the revolution.

THE DECLARATION OF THE RIGHTS OF MAN

  • August 26,1789
  • Created equal rights for all people

THE WOMAN'S MARCH ON VERSAILLES

  • Woman marched to Louis castle, pulled him out and walked him back to Paris.
  • October 5, 1789

SEPTEMBER MASSACRES

  • A bunch of prisoners were killed so they wouldn't revolt.
  • September of 1792

EXECUTION OF LOUIS XVI

  • January 21, 1793
  • All monarchy was eliminated and all of the power shifted.

EXECUTION

  • Marie Antoinette executed.
  • October 17,1793 in Paris
  • With Marie gone no one is spending their money so they can try to get out of debt.

REIGN OF TERROR 1793-1794

  • Maximilien Robespierre becomes the leader of the Public Safety Committee.
  • There is a spark in deaths by execution, mostly by the guillotine.
  • Robespierre is basically given the equivalent power of a monarch, which is what the French were trying to get rid of.
