Aerial skiing
Aerialists ski off of 2-4 meter jumps! There are two varieties of aerial skiing competitions ,those are Up right and Inverted. Aerial skiing is a judged sport in the Winter Olympics, and competitors get a score based on jump take off(20%), jump form (50%), and landing(30%). Degree of Difficulty (DD) is then factored in for a total score. The scores don't usually carry on to the next round. Aerialists also use trampolines, diving boards, and other acrobatic or gymnastics training equipment for training.
Mogul skiing
Moguls are series of bumps on a trail formed when skiers push the snow into mounds as they perform short turns. They can also be constructed on a slope for freestyle skiing competitions or practice runs.
Ski ballet
Ski ballet involved a choreographed routine of flips, rolls, leg crossing, jumps, and spins performed on a smooth slope. After the mid 1970's the routine was performed to music for 90 seconds. Ski ballet no longer is a part of competitive freestyle skiing.
Half-pipe Skiing
Half-pipe skiing is the sport of riding snow skis on half-pipe. Competitors perform tricks while going down the pipe. The latest world record for highest jump in a half-pipe is help by Peter Olenick, with 24ft and 11in.
