FRANCESCA CACCINI

Francesca was born on September 18th 1587 AD. She was born to Lucia Ganlolanti and Giulio Caccini. Her stepmother Margherita Della Scala. Francesca had two siblings, her sister Settimia and her brother Pompeo. Most of her family were composers and the majority of them were singers.

Francesca's family was in the middle class family.

Francesca was born in Florence, Italy. Her parents had taught her how to read and write music. Her mom and dad had influenced Francesca to play music and preform . The first symphony she preformed in was her father's when she was just 12 years old.

Francesca had studied literature, Latin, mathematics, and Greek. Later on she had become an educator.

Francesca played multiple instruments which involved the lute, the guitar, a harpsichord, and a therorbo.

Fun facts about Francesca Caccini.

Francesca Caccini was the very first lady to compose an opera. One of her compositions called "La Liberazione di Ruggiero" which is widely known as the oldest opera by a woman composer. She was also a very popular poet.

When Francesca would preform people would call her "La Cacchina." Nobody really knows exactly when she had died her death ranges from 1637 AD to 1645 AD.

Francesca had one child her girl was named Margherita. Francescas daughter was a nun and a singer.

Francesca had died at an early age. Her death was in her 50ies.

• This was Caccinis very first piece. Fun fact about this song would be it was first composed when her father Giulio Caccini had died that very day. I like this piece because first it was her very first piece and I think at she has an opera kind of voice.
