Paper making machine

  • In 1798, the Frenchman Nicholas-Louis Robert invented the paper machines.
  • The invention was patented on January 18, 1799. 
  • The machine made paper formed on a continuous sheet of wire cloth.
The paper making machine was a big invention. Before this invention, it was very hard to continuously make paper. This invention made it where you could print out paper very fast and quickly.

Braille

  • Invented by Louis Braille in 1821 
  • It was a page make of dots and bumps
  • The point of this was so that blind people can read
The Braille was a huge invention for blind people. The invention was made so that blind people can read. Since Braille had an accident with his father's tools that made him lose his eye, he wanted to help blind people. It was really the first invention that made blind people be able to read.

eiffel tower (TECHNOLOGY)

  • The Eiffel Tower was built in 1889.  
  • The structure is a towering 324 meters or 1,063 feet
  • The structure was built with concrete supports and metal beams.  
  • The archertect who built it was Stephen Sauvestre
The Eiffel Tower was originally built for the entrance and the central attraction of world fair. It really brought more tourist attractions to Pairs. It was a brake thought that they were able to pull it off because a lot of people thought that it was not possible. It was really a brake though of what structures can be.

Religon

Pius VII

  • He was born in 1742 and died in 1823 
  • He was elected in 1800 to be the pope
Pius VII had a big part in fighting for religious "freedom". He provided certain civil guarantees to the Church. He also fought for Catholicism to be the religion of the great majority of the French people.

Organic Articles of the Concordat of 1801

  • The articles were made by Napoleon and The Pope 
  • The articles were made in 1801
The Organic Articles Of The Concordat Of 1801 was a big part of religion of France. The article reestablished the Roman Catholic Church in France.

Bourbon Restoration

  • It started after the period following the French revolution
  • The Bourbon Restoration existed from 6 April 1814 until the uprisings of the July Revolution of 1830
During the restoration, the new Bourbon regime was a constitutional monarchy. The Bourbon Restoration had some limits on its abilities to govern. It also saw the re-establishment of the Roman Catholic Church as a power in French politics.

Semaphore line

  • The system was invented in 1792 in France by Claude Chappe
  • The Semaphore Line was a big tower with a radar on top
The Semaphore line was a big part in communication. It was a system of conveying information by means of visual signals. This means you did not need a post man. It made sending information very fast.

This was a great breakthrough in history. It allowed people to document history through photos. It also let people send pics to each other.

ANIMATED Film

  • The first pictured movie was from Frenchman Émile Reynaud
  •  The first showing was in, France, in 28 October 1892.
This really broke into animated films. This was the breakthrough invention for animated films. It started to show at movie theaters and really making it big.

The drop of 1790-96

  • The industrial and agricultural output dropped
  • Other countries did not trade with France
  • And prices soared through the roof
This was a big hit for France. They stopped trading and they had a couple of bed harvest years. People stopped paying there taxes and were not happy about what was going on. France was losing money very fast.

  • The Franc was established in 1795 
  • It was made by French Revolutionary Convention
The drop of the economy from 1790-96 really killed the economy. This currency really helped that drop stop. This was a plan to make that drop stop. This did make the drop stop and it helped the economy.

Final Defeat

  • The French army had there final defeat
  • The final defeat was in 1815
France in the Napoleon era spent a lot of their money of there army. Most of France's money went to the army and for the war. So when the army got defeated, the money could go to something else like there economy. Since the money was not focused on the army, the economy boosted after there recovery.

The July MONARCHY

  • The July Monarchy was in 1830
  • The person who invented it was Louis-Philippe
People revolted and wanted to over throw Charles X. They were successful and got Louis in to king. He was known as the "king of the French".

French Second Republic

  •  It was between the 1848 and 1851
  • Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte initiated the Second Empire.
The Second Republic witnessed the tension between the "Social and Democratic Republic". It was a provisional government and was accepted as the successor to Louis Philippe.

coup d'etat

  • The French coup d'état on 2 December 1851
  • The Coup D'etat was staged by Prince Louis-Napoléon Bonaparte
The Coup D'etat ended in the successful dissolution of the French National Assembly. The Coup D'etat re-establishment of the French Empire the next year.

Napoleon

  • He was born in August 15th 1769 – May 5th 1821
  • He was a big political leader and Emperor of the French from 1804 to 1814 
He was a big French activist. He was big on conquering and taking over other nations. He was also a army commander so he really cared about the war aspect. He seized many nations and gave France a big boost and they became a very powerful country.

Paris Commune

  • Lasted from March 18th until  May 28th 1871.
  • It was in Paris, France 
This all started when the emperor of France surrendered in a war against Perussia. Since he surrendered, people in Paris started to riot in the streets. People we rioting and killed 2 french soldiers.

He was a very influential artist. He made up different types of art and formed modern art. In 1909 he invented a new type of artistry. It was called cubism and it has influenced art up to modern day.
