  • First went by the name of Guido de pietro
  • Entered a dominican Convent in 1418 and became a friar in 1425

  • He was called by Pope Eugenius IV
  • asked to paint frescoes for the chapel
  • The chapel of the Sacrament of the Vatican
  • Though now the chapel is destroyed because of Paul III

  • From 1449-1452 Fra Angelico stayed at the convent in Fiesole
  • On March 8, 1455 he died in Rome
  • He is buried in Rome in the vhurch of Santa Maria sopra Minerva
  • He was marked as one if the foremost artists of the Renaissance

  • He was called Angelico which is italian for angelic
  • And Beato italian for blessed
  • His paintings were of calm religious subjects
