What is a fossil?

A fossil is the remains of plants or animals when they die.

What do fossils look like?

Fossils look like what the animal or planted looked like on the outside body.

How are fossils formed?

Fossils are formed because you have to bury the fossil under ground before they decompose or get eaten.

How long has a fossil been there?

Fossils have been around for 3.5 billion years.

What can we learn from fossils about the past?

We can learn about the past environment and climate and you can learn what they look like.

How should we go about digging more without harming any other treasures we may find?


You should have something that helps you keep the treasures away so when you dig the fossils up you won't harm any treasures.

How do we mark off the area to be searched?

You can mark it off by putting a marker called a diploma marker.

What tools should we use to continue searching?

You should use old screwdriver, hammer and an old makeup brush to find artifacts.
