Impacts
It was the first battle in the American Civil War. It was in Charleston, South Carolina between April 12 – April 14, 1861. President Lincoln declared that he was going to send Union troops to the fort, eventually they needed to resupplied. So Lincoln send supplies to the fort. South Carolina forces started to fire at the fort and took it over. Union surrendered because they were out matched. Union only had 80 troops and South Carolina had over 500 soldiers. South Carolina won the war and started the American Civil War.
