All of this words are what I think about when someone mentions formative assessment.

Laundry Day

Grades 3-5
This assessment could be used for any grade. I think that it would work best for grades 3 to 5. If someone wants to use this for a younger grade they could make the activities more fun. Also, students will be able to see what they need to work on as well.

Think-Pair-Share

  • Allows students to have three different experiences.
  • First the teacher asks the students a question that they have think about.
  • Then  they are paired with a peer to talk about their answer to the questio
  • Students are called upon to share with the rest of the class
  • By walking around teachers can use this as a formative assessment.
Also there can be another step to this assessment. Not only do the students think, pair, and share. The teacher can put in another step which is square. The pair turn around and share with another pair of students, before sharing with the class.
