THE ROLE OF FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT IN KINDERGARTEN

PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY INSTRUCTION AND INTERVENTION
There are many forms of formative assessment in kindergarten as students come to us with a myriad of differing abilities. While there is a strong foundation of pre-planning, the kindergarten environment especially here at Greenfield, lends itself well to this type of assessment. The role of discovery in play-based learning is essential at this age. As the students discover new learning and new abilities, formative assessment (assessment as we go) aide our PLC team in further planning.
