PRESENTATION OUTLINE

The Ford Model A was a luxury car made after the model T. It was first produced on Oct. 20, 1927 ,but it was not sold until Dec. 20th. The model A came in four colors while the Model T and only one. (black)

By February 1929 over one million were sold
By July 24th over two million were sold
By March 1930 over three million
March 1930 production ended with over 4.8 million sold in all body styles

  • February, 1929: over one million
  • July 24, 1929: over two million
  • March, 1930: over three million
  • March, 1932(end of production): 4'858'644 were sold

There were thirty-seven body styles: Coupe, Sedan, Buisness Coupe, Town car, Sport Coupe, Fordor, Victoria, Taxi Cab , Roadster (as shown) to name a few

The Ford Model T had only eight

The Ford Company made the Model A in plants in Argentina, Canda, France, Germany, Denmark, and the U.K. which made many jobs and created a larger market

The engine was a water-cooled L-head inline 4-cylinder with a displacement of 201 cubic in. (3.3 L), it provided 40 Hp (30 kW)and its top speed was 65 mph (105 km/h). The transmission was a conventional 3-speed sliding gear manual un-synchronized unit with a single speed reverse.

It also had a 4-wheel mechanical drum braking system, while the Model T (as shown) had a front mounted 177 cubic in. incline 4-cylinder engine,with 20 Hp (15 kW) and a top speed of 40 mph (64 km/h) and capable of running on gasoline, kerosene, and ethanol/moonshine.
