Now on to Forces

FUN FACT
The Chisel Plow is Considered the most important tillage tool!!!

FORCES

  • Gravity
  • Friction
  • Thrust
  • Drag
  • Pressure, Momentum

GRAVITY

  • Stay on the ground to dig up dirt
  • Balanced
  • Contact

THRUST

  • Moves it go forward
  • Unbalanced
  • Contact

FRICTION

  • In order to stop
  • To go down to start digging
  • Contact
  • Both balanced and unbalanced

DRAG

  • To stop
  • Across the ground to dig up rows
  • Unbalanced
  • Contact

PRESSURE

  • The plow pushes down to the ground
  • So it can dig down deeper
  • Gages
  • Contact
  • Unbalanced

MOMENTUM

  • The tractor pulls the the plow
  • Contact
  • Balanced
