• Food accounts for a third of all solid waste in HK
• 3,200 tones of foods are sent to landfills everyday
• The volume of food waste has doubled in the last 5 years
• There are only 3 landfill capacities in HK

• Globally , about 1.3 billion tones of food are lost.
• 10% of greenhouse gas emissions come from growing food that is never eaten
• About 40% of fruit & vegetables are rejected in UK.
• In North America and Oceania, 50% of the fish and seafood caught is wasted.

CURRENT STATUS

• Most of hk's food waste is disposed at landfills in each day.
• Leftovers foods now are being sorted & place in machine to make compost
• Recieves 250 kg of leftover food everyday.
