What do Floral Designers Do?
- Cut & arrange live, dried, and silk flowers and greenery
- Help customers to choose suitable flowers and plants
- Design bouquets & arrangements based on ideas of client
- Advise client on how to care for flowers/plants purchased
- Deliver & set up arrangements/displays at a variety of events

EDUCATION
To gain the skills needed to become a floral designer, you can:
+ Take a floristry course at a local college
+ Join a local flower arranging society
+ Look for opportunities to help out in a florist's shop as a volunteer or intern
LOCATION
About 20% of floral designers are self-employed and can work out of their own studios or homes. Other possible places to work as a florist can be at retail businesses, such as a flower shop or grocery store.
