2.
Synthesis:
A reaction in which two or more elements or compounds combine to form a single product.
Ex.) 2Na+Cl2----> 2NaCl
Here they are taking sodium and chloride and combining them together to make sodium chloride. This is a covalent bond.
3.
Decomposition:
A single reactant, a compound, breaks into two or more parts.
Ex.) CaCO3--->CaO+CO2
In this reaction the calcium carbonate breaks down into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide. This is a covalent bond also.
4.
Combustion:
Often a hydrocarbon is burned in the presence of oxygen gas to form carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide.
Ex.)CH4+2O2-->CO2+2H2O
In this reaction carbon dioxide is released.
This is a covalent bond.

5.
Double Displacement:
Two compounds react to form two new compounds.
Ex.)HCL+NaOH->H2O+NaCl
In this reaction hydrogen chloride reacts with sodium hydroxide to form water and sodium chloride.
It is a covalent bond.
6.
Single Displacement:
A more active element replaces a less active element in a compound.
Ex.) Fe+CuSO4->Cu+FeSO4
In this reaction the iron and the copper replace each other and take over the new spot on the right side of the equation.
This is an ionic compound.
