Industrial Revolution
the transition to new manufacturing processes in the period from about 1760 to sometime between 1820 and 1840.

Urbanization
a population shift from rural to urban areas, and the ways in which society adapts to the change

Assembly Line
a manufacturing process in which parts are added as the semi-finished assembly moves from work station to work station

Capitalism
an economic and political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.

Mass Production
the production of large amounts of standardized products, including and especially on assembly lines.

Efficiency
where time, effort, or cost is well-used for the intended task or purpose.

Revolution
a forcible overthrow of a government or social order in favor of a new system

Market
an area or arena in which commercial dealings are conducted.

Unskilled Work
work which needs little or no judgment to do simple duties that can be learned on the job in a short period of time.

Natural Resources
materials or substances such as minerals,water, and fertile land that occur in nature and can be used for economic gain.
