FIRST DEGREE BURNS

A first degree burn affects the first layer of skin.
First degree burns do not always need medical attention.

Sunburns are a common type of a first degree burn.
Prevention of sunburn is using sun block before you spend time in the sun.

Scalding is a result of touching a hot liquid or a hot pan in the kitchen. Showering in hot water can cause injury too.

Electricity can also burn you.
When little children stick their fingers in outlets that aren't covered.
