GRAMMAR

  • The first conditional is followed by the Present Simple after IF.
  • The future will is used in the other clause.
  • Never use IF and WILL in the same clause.
  • It is used to talk about things which might happen in the future.
  • Ex. IF it rains, I WON'T go to the park.

  • If you ____ (pass) the exam, you ___ get a certificate.
  • If she ____ (win) the lottery, she _____ buy a new car.
  • If he ____ (go) by bus, it _____ be chaper.
  • If hte phone_____ (ring), I _____ answer it.

REMEMBER:

  • You can change the order of the clauses.
  • Ex. If you don't hurry up, you will be late OR
  • You will be late if you don't hurry up.
  • But NEVER use IF and WILL in the same clause.
