Measure the properties of bodies of water. such as volume and stream flow
Collect water and soil samples to test certain properties, such as the pH or pollution levels
Analyze data on the environmental impacts of pollution, erosion, drought, and other problems
Prepare written reports and presentations of their findings

While a bachelor’s degree is sufficient for some entry-level jobs, most hydrologists will need a graduate degree in the natural sciences
Classes in college you can take to be a hydrologist, include statistics, physical science, and computer and life sciences
