• It was a time when the u.s. wanted to ban a lot of things and force things upon people
• They wanted to get rid of alcohol
• They wanted to force Jesus upon us
• They wanted us to go back to Puritan roots

CHALLENGES TO AMERICA

• It was a time of prosperity and general happiness in America
• New inventions created easy lifestyles
• Social security was invented
• They had illegal bars called speak easys

WORLD WAR 2

• Basically it was a super long battle that lasted for 5 years
• The first battle in 1940 was battle at Dunkirk
• Attack at Pearl Harbor
• Battle or Okinawa in 1945

THE COLD WAR ERA

• It was the time of Hitler and he was trying to kill all of the Jews and take over the world
• Soviet Union tried to secure worldwide communist
• Soviet Union took control of Hungarian police force
• Soviet Union used veto power in the u.n.

THE CIVIL RIGHTS ERA

• It was a time when blacks were not really accepted, especially in the south
• A 14 year old boy was killed for winking at a white women
• Rosa Parks was told to get out of her seat on the bus because she was black
• Police would escort black kids to school
