Simile

-a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of different kinds, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g., I am as brave as a lion, He is as fast a cheetah).

Alliteration

noun
the appearance of the same letter or sounds at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.

Idioms

a group of words formed by usage of having a meaning not deducible from those of the individual words (e.g., its raining cats and dogs, do you see the light ).

Metaphor

a figure of speech when a word or phrase is given to an object or action to that is not a literally applicable. (A black hole wanted to show its power by sucking up a star) synonyms: figure of speech, image, trope, analogy, comparison, symbol, word painting/picture

The mood is the way tha author wants the reader to feel while reading his or her writing. (Scared, my hart beaded as i herd the door nob turn.
