Simile
Using the words like or as to compare two nouns that are not alike.

Comparing two nouns that are not alike.

Example

Hyperbole
An exaggeration that is not meant to be taken seriously.

Idioms

Hit the hammer on the nail.

Alliteration
An alliteration is a set of words all beginning with the same sounds.

EXAMPLE
Peter piper picked a peck of pickled pepper

Giving objects ideas places or animals human qualities.
