PRESENTATION OUTLINE
You take a deep breath
And you walk through the doors
It's the morning of your very first day
You say hi to your friends you ain't seen in awhile
Try and stay out of everybody's way
Taylor is talking about how she is very nervous on her first day of high school. She is seeing some of her friends that graduated a few years ahead of her. She also feels intimidated by the older people whom she doesn't know.
It's your freshman year
And you're gonna be here for the next four years
In this town
Hoping one of those senior boys
Will wink at you and say, "you know I haven't seen you around, before"
She hopes that a senior boy notices her because she doesn't want to be invisible and she wants them to remember her from middle school.
'Cause when you're fifteen,
Somebody tells you they love you
You're gonna believe them
And when you're fifteen
When you're fifteen you are young and naive. You're going to believe that they truest love you because it's a new experience.
Feeling like there's nothing to figure out
Count to ten
Take it in
This is life before you know who you're gonna be
At fifteen
At fifteen she thought that she knew everything but if she could go back and tell her past self she would tell her to breathe and think about the situation because she's just fifteen.
You sit in class next to a red-head named Abigail
And soon enough you're best friends
Laughing at the other girls
Who they think they're so cool
We'll be out of here as soon as we can
Taylor's first friend is Abigail and she has a feeling that she and her will be close throughout high school. They make fun of the girls who have a big ego and think that they're perfect.
And then you're on your very first date
And he's got a car
And you're feeling like flying
And you're mama's waiting up
This is a new and exciting experience for her. "You're feeling like flying" means that it seems like a dream come true.
And you're thinking he's the one
And you're dancing around the room when the night ends
When the night ends
When the night was over she was in her room fantasying that her was the "prince in her fairy tale".
And your first kiss makes your head spin around
But in your life you'll do things
Greater than dating the boy on the football team
But I didn't know it at fifteen
She was so ecstatic that she got her first kiss. If she could talk to her past self she would want to tell herself that you'll do better things than dating a boy on the football team. But she didn't know that at fifteen.
When all you wanted
Was to be wanted
Wish you could go back
And tell yourself what you know now
At fifteen all she wanted was to be loved by someone special. She wishes she could go back in time and tell her fifteen year old self that being wanted isn't the greatest thing in the world.
Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday
But I realized some bigger dreams of mine
And Abigail gave everything she had
To a boy who changed his mind
And we both cried
He was the "prince to her fairy tale ending."But as she grew she realized she had bigger dreams.Abigail sacrificed everything for a guy that threw her away.
Don't forget to look before you fall

And you just might find who you're supposed to be
