There were many earthquakes.There were lots of rugged mountains so it was hard to farm.The surrounding sea gave them easy access to food.All the water kept them isolated from Asia.

What did the social hierarchy look like?

SOCIAL ORDER

• The emperor was the ruler
• The shogun ran all the military forces
• The daimyo were military lords
• The samurai were the warriors

What was the great change?

The great change was when Japan into provinces.They were ran by officials that reported to the emperor.
