HISTORY

  • The FBI was formed in 1908 as the BOI (bureau of investigation).
  • In 1935 the name was changed to the FBI.

HOW TO JOIN

  • Must be between the ages of 23 and 37
  • Must be a citizen of the U.S. or northern marina islands
  • Must have a clean record
  • Must be in good physical shape

DEGREE

  • Must have a 4 year college degree
  • No specific degree
  • Suggests a field that helps with research and analyzing

TRAINING

  • After being accepted you are sent to Quantico Virginia for 20 weeks of paid training.
  • There you learn subjects related to the job.

AFTER TRAINING

  • After the 20 weeks you are sent to one of the FBI's 56 field offices.
  • There you specialize in one of the five different kinds of criminal units cyber, criminal, intelligence, counterintelligence, or counterterrorism

BENEFITS AND SALARY

  • Benefits of working for the FBI are that you get health and life insurance.
  • Yo also get sick days, vacation days, and a paid retirement.
  • Average salary for an FBI agent is 60k-70k.
