What food can your nutrient be found in?

Saturated fats are found in meat and other animal products such as cheese, butter and all milk except the odd skim.

You could change the way you grow and develop which could eventually effect your wellbeing for the rest of your life.

Are there different categories of fats and what are they?

Polyunsaturated which is a good fat that is found in oils, fish and plants. Saturated fat this is bad fat often found in animal food and processed food.

Why are fats essential for the body?

Even though fats seem bad and have a bad reputation for weight gain some fats are essential for survival
According to the Dietary Reference Intakes published by the USDA 20% - 35% of calories should come from fat. We need this amount of fat for:

Normal growth and development
Energy (fat is the most concentrated source of energy)
Absorbing certain vitamins ( like vitamins A, D, E, K, and carotenoids)
Providing cushioning for the organs
Maintaining cell membranes
Providing taste, consistency, and stability to foods.
