Fashion designers work on the design of items of clothing and fashion ranges. Some may focus completely on one specialist area, such as sportswear, childrenswear, footwear or accessories.

Design assistant starting salaries are around the $22,000 - $23,000 mark.
A junior designer can expect to earn in the region of $32,000 - $34,000 a year.
The range of typical salaries at senior designer/creative director level is $56,000 - $116,000+.
