CAUSES:

• The Byzantine Empire had no allies to help him so when they went to Italy to ask for help, there was much discussed yet little done to save The Byzantine Empire.
• The ottoman turks were the reason why people from the Byzantine Empire had to flea to Italy to seek help. The ottoman's came from the middle east, southeastern Europe, and North Africa. Since they lost their land to the Mongols they fled to The Byzantine Empire to regain the lamd they lost.

EFFECTS ON HISTORY:

• The remaining survivors of The Byzantine Empire fled to Italy to carry their culture and keep it thriving.
• The ottoman turks made it impossible for Europeans to trade with Asia
• The Fall of the Byzantine Empire sparked the Renaissance.

WHO WERE THE MONGOLS??

• Mongols came from the grasslands of Asia (Central Asia)
• They, unfairly, claimed the Ottoman's original land which led them the Ottoman's to take Byzantium's land.

• The Ottomans have been around since the 14th century to 1922
• They were a Muslim-Turkish Empire
• They took down the Byzantine Empire
• They came from the Middle East, Southeastern Europe, amd North Africa
• They finally conquered the Byzantine Empire in 1453 A.D

• The Byzantine Empire had a sturdy city wall protecting them.
