  • They have been used to preserve food and make them taste better
  • Additives have been used for a long time

  • It is used as a thickener or a texturizer

In foods there are a lot of chemical additives. That is in there because it stops the growth of mold. Preservatives are bad for our health and it effects our bodies. Preservatives also help maintain freshness and the look of food.
