STAMP ACT 1765

American Colonist had to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper they used. 

QUARTERING ACT 1765

British soldiers are to find room and board in the American colonies.

TOWNSHEND ACTS 1765

 Colonies had to pay the salaries of governors and judges so that they would remain loyal to Great Britain,

THE BOSTON MASSACRE

Shots fired by British soldiers in the streets of Boston in 1770.

THE BOSTON TEA PARTY

A group of colonists attacked merchant ships in Boston Harbor. 

THE TEA ACT

This tea was to be shipped directly to the colonies, and sold at a bargain price.

THE INTOLERABLE ACTS

The Intolerable Acts represented an attempt to reimpose strict British control over the American colonies, 

LEXINGTON AND CONCORD

British troops are sent to confiscate colonial weapons, they run into an untrained and angry militia. 

THE QUEBEC ACT

This act extended the boundaries of Quebec and guaranteed religious freedom to Catholic Canadians.
