What Have You Learnt About Technologies From The Process Of Constructing This Product?

When creating a media product, various types and amounts of technology is used

Our title sequence was no different as various elements of tech was used to its best abilities to construct the sequence.

Each piece of technology had a different function and contributed to making the sequence the best it can be.

Professional video cameras

• Helped us film shots
• Extremely useful
• Most crucial and essential part of our tech because it produced the footage.

• Majority of the time, our shots were filmed on 'Auto focus'; However we faced complications when filming extreme close ups and was forced to re-film, and change to manual focus as they were initially blurry.

Manual focus allowed us to get a clear, precise shot as we were able to freely focus our image.

SOFTWARE
In order to edit footage we used multiple software programmes which included:

Software

• Adobe Premire Pro
• Adobe After Effects
• Garage band

Premier Pro

• Used to edit entire sequence, sound and create soundscape
• Increase, decrease length, speed and duration of clips
• Time consuming process of importing, cutting and ordering clips

Premier Pro is useful to adapt and incorporate different software programmes like After Effects particularly because they are from the same company (Adobe).

This shows how complex our sequence was when placing scenes and music together

After effects

After effects is a partner program, which works effectively with Premier Pro. This is specifically because they are from the th same company -Adobe-.

• More advanced and versatile as it allowed us to create professional looking titles by being able to alter the size and font of the text.
• The effects "Bad TV" and "Fade" was added so that the titles could transition more smoothly.

Additionally, the programme allowed us to:

• Presicely position the titles
• Change the font size
• Control the duration of the title apprearing on the screen

Garage Band

Garageband is a music editing software which provided us with sound effects. E.g. the Vinyl Transition effect, which helped to build tension within the scenes in our piece

The software allowed us to:

• Specifically order and layer our music
• Create a deeper, detailed soundscape

Conclusion :)

It was increasing overwhelming to learn new skills, software and gadgets in such a short amount of time. This is why there are perks to working in a group because it was useful when dividing skill sets as people were better at some elements than others.

However, I do think that the whole experience was beneficial because due to the such wide range of technology used. I believe that I would be able to adapt to the surroundings that I could be placed in the near future.
