  • Born: March 6, 1475 in Caprese (Republic of Florence), Italy
  • He died on February 18, 1564
  • He was 79 years old when he died

WHY IS HE FAMOUS?

  • Michelangelo was the orimary lainter, sculptor and architect for Pope Paul III.
  • Michelangelo worked on the design for renovation and redesign of Romes Campidoglio.
  • In 1546, Michelangelo took over construction of Palazzo Farnese after death of the previous artist.

The type of art is a sculpture.This depicts David before the battle with Goliath. This reflecs the art period because David is a nude sculpture and the story behind him is Biblical.

This type of art is a frescoed painting. This depicts when God breathes life into Adam, the first man. This reflects the art period because of how God is the most important religious figure and how frescoe paintings are apart of the Renaissance art time period. Lastly, Adam is nude.
