BACKGROUND

• Born in Alexandria, Greece
• Graduated from Plato's academy
• Son to a Greek man in Damascus

CONTRIBUTIONS

• Created the Euclidean algorithm
• "Father of geometry"
• Wrote "Euclid's Elements"
• "There is no royal road to geometry." -Euclid

Euclid didn't have much involvement with other mathematicians but he did however attend Plato's academy.

One important event in history that happened close to euclids time was in 300bc and the Great Wall of china was starting to be built in parts.
