TRIASSIC PERIOD

• The Triassic period is in the Mesozoic era
• It's was 252 million-208 million years ago

PLACERIAS

• This animal of the period looked like a cross of hog, cow, and turtle
• It ate low growing plants, roots, and tubers

COELOPHYSIS

• This was a carnivorous 3m long dinosaur that fed on smaller reptiles
• It had very sharp teeth

PLATEOSAURUS

• This was a giant herbivore dinosaur
• It weighed up to 3 tons

PLANT LIFE

• During this time seed plants dominated the area
• Two plants that were abundant were ferns and evergreens
• These plants had open seeds

CLIMATE

• In the Triassic period the climate differed
• In the beginning of the period it was cool and dry
• But later in was cool and dry in winter and warm and rainy in summer
• It is suggested you bring warm and cool clothes

FACTS ABOUT THE PERIOD

• The Jurassic period was before this period
• The Permian was after
• Both the beginning and end of the period are marked by mass extinctions
• This era is unique because the first mammals and flying vertebrate appeared
• The major attractions of the time are definitely dinosaurs, but be careful you could be eaten
