History
After the Middle Ages and wars with Germanic tribes and Moors, Spain emerged in the 15th century.

In 1464 Isabella one married Ferdinand two therefore laying the foundation for Spain.

In 1492 the age of exploration began and Spain had discovered the americas.

In 1585 the Spanish Anglo war began leading to the British wiping out the Spanish Armada.

Spain transitions to democracy in 1976 but they still have a king and a queen.

Geography
Spain and Portugal are part of the Iberian peninsula which makes up Spain

Pico de Teide is the highest point in Spain. It is 3,718 meters high.

All of Spain's islands are volcanic but the most famous volcano is Teide because its the tallest mountain in Spain.

Spain has a very large history of architecture. They have some of the most famous buildings in the world.

In Spain architecture is an art. They always have paint on there buildings.

Sports
Spain has some of the greatest sports and they have many famous soccer players like Iker Casillas and andres Iniesta.

In Pamplona the running of the bulls is a sport with many injuries so don't get hit by the bulls!

Rafael Nadal is one of the most famous tennis players in the world. He has won 14 major titles.

Jai alía is a sport were you catch, throw, and hurl the ball to score points.

Foods
In Spain most foods are unique like tapas. They are little bites of food like appetizers you can order them at cafés.

Tortilla española is a common diner dish. It is an omelet with onions in it.

Gazpacho is a soup made of raw vegetables and it is served cold.
