EROSION VS WEATHERING

  • Erosion is things moved to a different location
  • Weathering is breaking down or rocks and minerals by wind and water.

EROSION

  • Rainfall-as precipitation falls it slowly takes pieces off of rocks
  • Glaciers- as glaciers move and scrape the bottom of the sea floor it is thinned.
  • Streams- as streams run across the ground and break it down.
  • Coastal Erosion- as the waves crash on the shore they break down the sand.

  • Frost- when the rock is frozen and breaks apart
  • Pressure- when extreme pressure creates or breaks rocks
  • Hydro-when high pressured water breaks the rocks.
  • Thermal-when temperature effects the rock like in deserts.
