DEFINITION

• Epistrophe is also known as epiphora.
• Occurs when a word or phrase is repeated at the end of a sentence

EXAMPLES

• I came as a child, I spoke as a child, I thought as a child
• I'm a pepper, she's a pepper, he's a pepper, we're a pepper

PURPOSE

• The main purpose is to be more dramatic when speaking
• Makes lines more memorable
• Produces rhythm and cadence.
