WHAT IS THE ISSUE

  • A mining company have found large source of non-renewable resources.
  • The miners are mining away are Great Barrier Reef for a sentence amount of resources.
  • The coal mine will cover 200 sq km and produce 60 m tonnes a year.
  • The ships that will carry the resources will go though the Great Barrier Reef safely and that would mean they would need to rip up the reef in order for the ships to pass through safely.

CAN THE ISSUE BE SOLVED

  • The issue can be prevented if no one fondues the mining company.
  • They will need to have a environmentalist to say that the Great Barrier Reef will not be damaged but the Great Barrier Reef will have to be damaged so that will not happen.
  • We can help the environmentalists protect the Great Barrier Reef.
  • We can help in he campaign against the mining company.

THE EFFCET ON BIOTIC AND ABIOTOC FACTERS

  • If the Great Barrier Reef is dredged the reef will lose large populations of fish which would effect biotic factors such as disruptions to food chains essential for reef life.
  • The currents may change from the dredging because there would be large shipping routes through the reef which would cause multiple abiotic factors such as temperatures and corrects changing.
