PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ENDOPLASMIC RETICULUM

"THE PACKAGING SYSTEM"

STRUCTURE OF ORGANELLE

  • E.R. can be either smooth or rough.
  • If it's smooth, it acts as storage.
  • If it's rough, it packages proteins. Some proteins stay in the cell, others get sent out.

TYPE OF CELL IT'S FOUND IN

  • E.R. is found in all cells.
  • It acts like the cell's brain.
  • E.R. can look different in each cell depending on the cell's function.
  • E.R. creates large networks of membranes for all across the cell.

FUNCTION

  • E.R. stores stuff like proteins.
  • It sends these proteins out to where where they need to go or keeps in stored for the cell it's in.
