PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Emma Uber

BY: KATELYN HELMS

Emma Uber was born in Australia, and she grew up in Ballarart, Victoria. She started making art when she was 15 years old. She was inspired by Audrey Kawasaki, Ashley Wood, Zhou Fan, and Martine Johanna.

Emma Uber's artwork uses very bright colors. She uses a lot of details by making little designs around the people she paints. Her backgrounds are normally filled with a lot of designs. She uses bright colors and different patterns to make her artwork unique. She also makes the person in her artwork blend in with the background which makes her unique too. The bright colors and different designs in her background will help you identify her artwork. I would describe her artwork as bright, colorful, and fun.

Compare/Contrast
People in both pictures fade into the background. They both have blue backgrounds. They both use lots of bright colors. You see more of the girl's body in the left picture. The left picture has flowers while the right picture just has a plain background. The person on the right is looking straight, but the person on the left is looking away.

Process
At first, Emma Uber uses a design that she has made up in her mind to make the background of her artwork. She also uses digital design processes to come up with what colors and other designs that she wants to use. She adds layers and layers of colors and shapes depending of what feels right to her. She uses the mistakes that she makes by turning them into interesting details. After she is done with the background, she then adds faces to her artwork using the background to help blend them in.

Artist Statement
I will use paint, markers, and colored pencils to make my artwork. I will use bright colors and backgrounds as inspiration from Emma Uber. First I will draw my eyes, then nose, mouth, and ears. After I will color in the parts I want with marker. Then I will paint the backgound.
