RELIGION

  • She wasn't a religious person and would question what would happen to a person after death.

  • Although she lived close to family, she lived in isolation.
  • Adding to her isolation, she never got married.

SCHOOL

  • She attended Mount Holyoke College, Amherst Academy, and Monson Academy.
  • Mount Holyoke College had challenging courses, but built education for young girls, although Dickinson didn't return for a 2nd year.
