ELIZABETH BLACKWELL

  • She was a physician
  • Came from Bristol, UK
  • She studied the field of medicine
  • She later worked as a doctor in Cincinnati, Ohio.
  • She went to college at Hobart & William Smith College

I think that Elizabeth Blackwell was mostly famous because she was the first woman to graduate from medical school in the United States.

Elizabeth Blackwell's achievements helped benefit the world by letting people realize that women can be doctors, by Elizabeth being the first female doctor.

Interesting fACTS

  • She went to Paris to help people who suffered from a disease. The disease made little children go blind in one eye and made it very blurry in the other eye.
  • She founded a medical school for women. That school still exists today. It is called The Women's Medical School, which is located in New York.
