I was born on October 11, 1884, in New York City.
I was the only girl, I had 3 brothers Hall, Elliott Mann and Elliott Jr.
My nick name was little nell it came from my dads favorite book.
My mom called me granny because i was such a quiet, serious little girl.
I had very poor education and started school late.I went to allenswood academy.My mom had to hire a tooter to help me to get better.📚
My mom and dad died when I was a young child .ðŸ˜
i had six children but one died at eight months old.
I was a very good person i worked hard to help the untied nations and gave radio interviews and taught classes.
During World War 1,I worked for the American Red Cross.
I was the First Lady of the United states.
My husband suffered from a polio attack in 1921,I stepped up to help him with his political career.
I spoke out for human rights, children's causes and women's issues,working on behalf of the League of Women Voters.
I had my own newspaper column called "My Day" I focused on helping the poor and stood against racial discrimination.
During World War 2 I traveled abroad to visit the U.S. troops.
