The Trek

  • Professional Development - Educators need to learn technology skills as well as how to integrate technology into pedalogical best practices to optimize learning.
  • Intentional Focus on SAMR - Educators need to develop lessons that are modifying and redefining what use to be.
  • Access to Devices and Subscriptions - As we begin to get a device in our students' hands, we need to look ahead a the cost of acquiring subscription to apps that will help teaching move farther on the SAMR and Bloom's Taxonomy models.
  • Time - Educators need time to development well thought out lessons that use best practice and technological tools to their fullest potential.

Challenges

  • Parents - Communicating with parents the purpose behind structuring learning in this manner.
  • Time and Money - Creating lessons and utilizing technological tools cost time and money which are limited resources.
  • Navigating a Digital World - This new world is full of unknowns and changes rapidly. Not only do we need to help prepare students for using technology, digital citizenship, but we must help prepare them for a future that is indescribable.
