  • Lori Greiner is an American inventor, investor, entrepreneur, author, and television personality.
  • She is best known as a cast member of the reality TV show Shark Tank and has been called "The Queen of QVC".
  • Since 1998, she has had a program on QVC called "Clever & Unique Creations Show".

Greiner grew up on the Near North Side, Chicago,
the second daughter of a real estate developer and a psychologist.
Her parents divorced when she was eight years old,
and this left her feeling unsettled.

Lori Greiner majored in Communications focusing on journalism, television and film, at Loyola University Chicago and worked for the Chicago Tribune while attending university.

She was an aspiring playwright and sold her own jewelry on the side.

Greiner created a box that organized earrings which she later patented.

Using borrowed money she created a sample product which was picked up by J.C. Penney before the holiday season.

Eighteen months later the earring product reportedly "made her rich."

Greiner is the host of the cable TV show Clever & Unique Creations by Lori Greiner and has been called the "Queen of QVC."

She has helped launch more than 400 products and holds 120 U.S. and international patents.

  • In 2012, Greiner joined the TV series Shark Tank and has been called "the warm-blooded shark".
  • In 2014, Greiner’s investment in the company Scrub Daddy, was described as the most successful in the Shark Tank show's history.
  • On July 30, 2014, Greiner sold over 2 million of the sponges on QVC.
  • In 2011, she spoke at the first United States Patent and Trademark Office Women's Entrepreneurship Symposium.

By 2012, the show averaged over 6 million viewers an episode, making it the most watched program on Friday nights in the 18-49-year old demographic.

As a result, ABC added three more episodes to the original season order of 22.

In July 2012 the show was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Reality Program category.
