Ex: starfish, sea urchins, sand dollars, and sea cucumbers

The body of an echinoderm is covered by a hard exoskeleton which protects its organs

The exoskeleton may be grainy, smooth, or covered in overlapping plates

Echinoderms have no heart, eyes, or brains.
