BASIC CHARACTERISTIC

  • Echinoderm means "spiny skinned"
  • Their shape is like stars, pincushions, and coins
  • It's a radially symmetrical invertebrate that lives on the ocean floor
  • Adults have a unique kind of symmetry where Body parts usually in multiples of 5 are arranged like spokes on a wheel.
  • Lives only in salt water

  • They can regrow body parts
  • Starfish has tube feet that help them move by pushing water

LIFE CYCLE AND REPRODUCTION

REPRODUCTION

  • Male and female echinoderms
  • They lay eggs right in sea water
  • They turn into little swimming larvae
  • The undergo metamorphosis and become adult echinoderms

  • Live in wet environments
  • Crawl on the bottom of the ocean
  • Seek food shelter and mates

  • Cartilage: a flexible strong tissue that is softer than bone.
  • Vertabrate: an animal that has a back bone.
  • Endotherm: an animal who's body controls and regulates its temperature by controlling the internal heat it produces.
  • Radial Symmetry: the quality of having many lines of symmetry that all pass through the center also point .
